Greetings Pastors, Church Treasurers, Finance Teams, SPRC, and Others -
I'm writing today on behalf of your Conference Administrative Teams and other Conference leadership with a significant announcement related to recent actions of the Conference Council on Finance & Administration (CFA) and Board of Pension & Health Benefits (BOP).
Both CFA and BOP have been diligently working to listen, understand, and prayerfully consider the financial stresses the COVID-19 pandemic may be introducing into our churches. In response to these hopefully short run financial stresses, CFA and BOP are offering the following multi-tiered approach that we hope will support the financial health of our churches during this time:
- For March, CFA is reducing the Our Mission Covenant “ask” of local churches from 11% to 0%.
- Beginning in April and continuing through May, the BOP is waiving the monthly “church share” of health insurance for active plan participants.
